Hello, bookworms!

I'm Amy, a lifelong book lover; dedicated bookstore loiterer and library friend; longtime book club member; and committed book hoarder. I read about 100 books a year, and in between I create lists of favorite books, write reviews, and develop greedy, completely unmanageable ideas of all the books I want to read next.

For years I was an editor at a wonderful book publisher, and I've been a freelance book editor for many years since.

The common theme here is, of course, an obsession with books.

Some of my favorite genres to read are young adult; historical fiction; fantasy and science fiction; contemporary fiction; mystery and suspense, and intersections of the genres above. I have minor obsessions with spy tell-alls; books exploring death (and lives well lived); thoughtful or juicy celebrity memoirs; varied nonfiction; and books set in Alaska, Russia, Australia, the American West, and Appalachia.

I hope The Bossy Bookworm will offer you ideas of books you'd like to spend time reading, and I'd love to hear what you think.

To talk books or to share suggestions, please feel free to comment, e-mail, follow me on Goodreads, and/or subscribe to the mailing list.

Happy reading!

Review Policy

I request and review some prepublication books via NetGalley; scour lots of book lists; and generally read whatever strikes my fancy (or whichever book is due back to the library first). Because I'm busy being a Bossy reader, I don't review upon request. Thanks for understanding.
